Dixie State netted two goals over the final nine minutes of play in regulation and overtime to rally past Seattle Pacific, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Trailblazer Stadium.
SPU (0-2-0) struck the game's first goal early in the ninth minute when Claire Neder took advantage of a defensive miscue and beat Blazer
Chandler Greenwood on a one-and-one chance to give her side a quick 1-0 lead.
The Falcons managed to maintain their advantage until the 84
th-minute when sophomore
Whitley Johns rocketed home a shot from the left wing to knot the score at 1-1. Then with two minutes into in the first overtime period, Johns chipped a ball to
Sophie Stewart, who threaded a blast through a scrum in front of the net and past SPU keeper Riley Travis for the golden goal.
Dixie State outshot SPU 16-5 in the match, including a 5-2 edge on goal.
