Dixie State saw its season-long seven-match winning streak come to an end in a hard fought three-set sweep at Colorado Mesa Saturday afternoon at Brownson Arena.
In a showdown between two of the top teams in the RMAC, the Mavericks raced to a 2-0 lead thanks to 25-19 and 25-21 set victories. Dixie State (8-4/3-1 RMAC) then battled back and forth with CMU in a third set that saw neither team lead by more than two points, and featured 22 ties and 11 lead changes. However Colorado Mesa would prevail as it scored the final two points of a thrilling 27-25 slugfest to close out the match.
