Trailblazer Tennis falls to Colorado Mesa Friday, 5-2

The Dixie State women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Colorado Mesa on Friday at the Elliott Tennis Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
 
The Trailblazers (2-3) earned a win at No. 1 doubles as Isabel Heras and Juliana Honczaruk played to a 6-3 result. However, the Mavericks claimed victories at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to earn the point.
 
Honczaruk and Megan Lynch set the tone for DSU in singles play, as Honczaruk cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6, while Lynch rolled to a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 4 to give the Trailblazers a 2-1 lead. But Dixie State would stay at two points for the remainder of the match, as Colorado Mesa claimed three-set wins at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 5 singles to clinch the victory.
 
Dixie State will look to bounce back with a 9 a.m. matchup against Colorado College on Saturday.
