Dixie State football (6-4, 6-3 RMAC) wraps up the 2018 season on Saturday with a trip to Alamosa, Colorado, to battle Adams State at Rex Field.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., with live video coverage scheduled on the RMAC Network. The Adams State athletics staff will provide the video stream at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/adams. Live stats will also be provided by the ASU sports information staff at www.asugrizzlies.com.

ALL-TIME VS. ADAMS STATE: Saturday's game marks the ninth meeting between Dixie State and Adams State. The Grizzlies earned a 37-7 victory in the inaugural matchup between the two teams on Sept. 2, 2006, in Alamosa. DSU answered with a 24-16 victory on Sept. 1, 2007, and a 37-28 victory on Aug. 27, 2009, both at home, for its first two wins of the series. Adams State responded with a three-game win streak (2010-12) before the Trailblazers countered with back-to-back wins in 2016 and 2017. The series is currently tied at 4-4, while the Grizzlies hold a 3-1 advantage at Rex Field.

KNOW YOUR FOE: Adams State enters Saturday's contest with a 4-6 overall record and a 4-5 mark in RMAC play. The Grizzlies boast one of the nation's premier passing attacks and enter the game as the Division II leader with 337.7 yards per game through the air.

Quarterback Nick Rooney ranks third in the RMAC and has completed 237-of-378 passes for 2,755 yards and 30 touchdowns. Rooney's main target is senior receiver Chad Hovasse, who ranks second in the RMAC with 99 catches for 1,268 yards and 19 touchdowns. The Grizzlies also boast a 1,000-yard rusher in Tyree Harris, who has carried the ball 206 times for 1,078 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Defensively, Adams State allows 508.5 yards (257.5 pass/251.0 rush) of total offense and 51.9 points per game. Defensive Back Garrett Jackson leads the RMAC with 115 tackles (5.5 for loss) to go with a team-high two interceptions.

Kicker Erick Ruiz leads the ASU special teams. Ruiz has converted on 6-of-8 field goals and 43-of-49 extra point attempts.

RMAC AND NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Michael Sanders earned RMAC and D2Football.com National Offensive Player of the Week honors. Sanders passed for 553 yards and five touchdowns on Saturday. He completed passes to nine different receivers in the contest, including touchdown tosses to three different receivers. He also bested his own single-game passing record after passing for 527 yards at Chadron State just two weeks ago. The five touchdown passes also tied the DSU single-game touchdown passes record as Sanders becomes just the third DSU quarterback, and the first since 2013, to pass for five touchdowns in a game.

MAKING THE GRADE: For the second consecutive season Remington Kelly (3.612 GPA) was named to the RMAC Football All-Academic Team on Wednesday. Eight other Trailblazers landed on the RMAC Football Honor Roll, including Hunter Christensen (3.936), Brad Duran (3.741), Blake Ence (3.657), Beda Galleta (3.597), Sei-J Lauago (3.379) Gage Manzione (3.751) Michael Sanders (3.475) and A.J. Yergensen (3.882).

LEADING THE LEAGUE: Dixie State's 36 total sacks is tops in the RMAC. CSU-Pueblo ranks second with 34 sacks.

Freshman punter Josh Carlson currently leads the RMAC in punting, averaging 45.7 yards per punt on 53 attempts. Carlson has booted 17 punts of 50 yards or more and has placed another 14 kicks inside the 20-yard line.

CHASING HISTORY: Sei-J Lauago moved into the No. 2 spot on the Dixie State career rushing list with 82 yards rushing at Black Hills State on September 29, passing Blake Barney and Adams Wells. Since then, Lauago has added 270 yards for a career total of 1,670 rushing yards and needs 52 more yards to pass DeJon Coleman (2015-16; 1,721 yards) to become the DSU career rushing leader.

MAKING HISTORY: Dixie State made history and earned its first win over a Top-10 ranked team on Saturday with its 52-45 triumph over No. 6 Colorado School of Mines. The Trailblazers also clinched its second winning season in the last three years in the process. Additionally, the win pushed DSU to a 5-0 home record, marking the first undefeated home record in the Division II era for the Trailblazers.

Michael Sanders bested his own passing record, completing 31-of-48 passes for 553 yards and five touchdowns to lead DSU past the Orediggers.

Dejuan Dantzler caught 11 passes for a school-record 241 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday, becoming just the second DSU receiver (Travis Brown, 230; 2006) to record 200 or more yards receiving in a single game. Additionally, Dantzler tied the single-game touchdown receptions record and becomes just the fourth DSU receiver, and the first since 2014, to catch three touchdown passes in a game.

Defensively, Trayvon Watson tied the career interceptions record (Richard May, 7; 2007-09) with his seventh career interception in the fourth quarter on Saturday.

The Dixie State defense set two different records on October 13 in the win over Western Colorado. The Trailblazers set a new DSU single-game sacks record (6.0; vs. Humboldt State/Western New Mexico, 2008) with seven sacks in the victory. The feat also pushed the team's season total to 28 total sacks, breaking the single-season sack record (27.0; 2008) in the process. DSU has added eight more sacks for a total of 36 sacks.

Dixie State pushed its win streak to four games and its record to 4-1 on September 29 with a 41-38 triumph at Black Hills State, marking DSU's longest win streak and best start of its Division II- era.

Dixie State students and fans packed the stands at Trailblazer Stadium on September 8, setting a new single-game attendance record of 5,498. The mark surpassed the previous record of 5,320 set during the 2006 home-opener against Humboldt State.

Josh Carlson set a new Dixie State record in his Trailblazer debut with an 81-yard punt in the third quarter at CSU-Pueblo on September 1, eclipsing the previous mark of 78 yards set by Nate Lewis against Humboldt State in 2007.
