At Dixie State: 2016 – Appeared in and started one game (10/1/16 vs. Western State) … completed 10-of-18 passes for 101 yards and one touchdown … rushed for 75 yards on 16 carries … missed the rest of the season due to injury … 2015 – Appeared in eight games and made seven starts as a freshman … rushed for 769 yards and five touchdowns on 127 carries as a freshman … set DSU single-game rushing record with 291 yards at SD Mines on Oct. 31, 2015 … completed 55 passes for 642 yards and three touchdowns … earned GNAC and D2Football.com Player of the Week honors.
 
At Dixie High School: Earned three varsity letters in football … led the Flyers to the Utah 3A State Championship as a senior in 2012, earned state championship game MVP honors … accounted for 4,126 yards of total offense as a senior … also earned two varsity letters in track and field and basketball … graduated in May 2013.

Personal: Born in St. George … parents are Shayne and Lisa Barney … also recruited by Weber State and Navy … currently majoring in web development.
