ALL-TIME VS. CHADRON STATE: Saturday's game marks the third meeting between Dixie State and Chadron State. The Trailblazers rolled to a 44-27 win in Chadron, Nebraska, in 2016 in the inaugural matchup between the teams. DSU and CSC took a 24-24 tie into the fourth quarter in last year's matchup at Trailblazer Stadium, before the Trailblazers scored twice in the fourth quarter to claim a 38-24 victory. Dixie State currently holds a 2-0 lead in the series.
KNOW YOUR FOE: Chadron State enters Saturday's matchup with a 4-2 overall record and the same mark in RMAC play. The Eagles are fresh off a bye last week and currently sit in fourth place in the RMAC standings.
Chadron State ranks fourth in the RMAC in total scoring (38.2 points per game) and fifth in total offense (436.8 yard per game). Redshirt sophomore quarterback Dalton Holst ranks fourth in the RMAC in passing, completing 107-of-183 passes for 1,436 yards and 13 touchdowns. Holst has completed 20 or more passes to three different receivers, including Jackson Dickerson (27 rec/291 yards/2 TD), Brandon Fullerton (21 rec/346 yards/4 TD), and Cole Thurness (20 rec/282 yards/4 TD). Running back Kevin Coy, Jr. leads the Eagles rushing attack with 497 yards and nine touchdowns on 104 carries.
Defensively, the Eagles rank fifth in the RMAC, allowing 440.3 yards of total offense per game. Linebacker Tyler Lewis leads the CSC defense and ranks fifth in the RMAC with 63 tackles (7.0 for loss) to go with three sacks. Four different CSC players have recorded one interception.
Kicker Carson Reed leads the specials teams and has connected on 5-of-8 field goals and converted 26-of-30 point-after attempts.
LAST TIME OUT: Dixie State earned its fifth win of the season on Saturday with a 17-10 decision over Western Colorado at Trailblazer Stadium.
The Trailblazers were held to -1 yards rushing, marking just the third time overall, and the first time since 2009, DSU has been held to negative yards rushing. However, Dixie State countered the WCU run defense with an impressive pass attack, finishing with 331 yards passing to mark the first time since 2016 the Trailblazers have logged more than 300 yards passing in a single game.
Dixie State finished the game with 330 yards of total offense and used three different quarterbacks in the contest. Michael Sanders (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle HS) completed 8-of-18 passes for 136 yards. Easton Smith (Payson, Utah/Payson HS) connected on 6-of-11 attempts for 167 yards and two touchdowns, and Trent Darms (Chico, Calif./Pleasant Valley HS) completed 2-of-2 passes for 28 yards. Xavier Smith (Kansas City, Mo./Ruskin HS) recorded his first 100-yard receiving game in a DSU uniform, finishing with eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. The feat also marked DSU's first 100-yard receiving game of the season. Dejuan Dantzler (Moreno Valley, Calif./Citrus Hill HS) finished with two catches for 90 yards and one touchdown, while Kasey Allison (Las Vegas, Nev./Canyon Springs HS) added four catches for 84 yards.

Wes Moeai (St. George, Utah/Pine View HS) chipped in five tackles and two sacks.
SACK PARTY: The Dixie State defense set two different records in Saturday's win over Western Colorado. The Trailblazers set a new DSU single-game sacks record (6.0; vs. Humboldt State/Western New Mexico, 2008) with seven sacks in the victory. The feat also pushed the team's season total to 28 total sacks, breaking the single-season sack record (27.0; 2008) in the process.
LEADING THE LEAGUE: Dixie State's 28 total sacks is tops in the RMAC. Western Colorado, CSU-Pueblo, and Chadron State are tied for second with 20 sacks each.
Freshman punter Josh Carlson (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert HS) currently leads the RMAC in punting, averaging 44.7 yards per punt on 46 attempts. Carlson has booted 12 punts of 50 yards or more and has placed another 12 kicks inside the 20-yard line.

Since then, Lauago has added 68 yards for a career total of 1,468 rushing yards and needs 254 more yards to pass DeJon Coleman (2015-16; 1,721 yards) to become the DSU career rushing leader. Â
MAKING HISTORY: Dixie State pushed its win streak to four games on September 29 with a 41-38 triumph at Black Hills State, marking DSU's longest win streak of its Division II- era.

Dixie State students and fans packed the stands at Trailblazer Stadium on September 8, setting a new single-game attendance record of 5,498. The mark surpassed the previous record of 5,320 set during the 2006 home-opener against Humboldt State.
Josh Carlson (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert HS) set a new Dixie State record in his Trailblazer debut with an 81-yard punt in the third quarter at CSU-Pueblo on September 1, eclipsing the previous mark of 78 yards set by Nate Lewis against Humboldt State in 2007.
