The Trailblazers earned a 28-20 victory in the inaugural matchup despite being outgained 394-378 by the Mountaineers. Dixie State took a 2-0 lead in the series last season, outlasting Western for a 15-12 victory inside the Mountaineer Bowl in Gunnison, Colorado, on Sept. 30, 2017.
