Women's Soccer Falls at Fresno Pacific, 1-0

Trailblazers see their season-long six-match winning streak halted in heartbreaking fashion

Dixie State saw its season-long six-match winning streak halted in heartbreaking fashion as the Trailblazers fell at Fresno Pacific, 1-0, Thursday night at Ramirez Field. With the loss, DSU (12-4-0/8-3-0, 24 pts) dropped into a second-place tie in points with FPU (8-6-1/8-2-0, 24 pts) in the Pacific West Conference table with less than two weeks left in the 2017 regular season.

Dixie State's PacWest leading offense was held to just three first-half shots on goal and 12 total shots in the match. Meanwhile, the Trailblazer defense limited the Sunbirds to only 15 shots, six on frame, with the lone goal of the match coming on a Mariah Montoya penalty kick conversion at the 71:17 mark of the second half.

"We've gotten too complacent this week," DSU Head Coach Kacey Bingham said. "We did not come out with the intensity that this game required. We're really going to have to regroup to finish the season."

Sophomore defender Kilee Lamb (Smithfield, Utah/Sky View HS) led DSU with three shots, one on goal, while sophomore forward Kamie Hunter (Hooper, Utah/Fremont HS) was credited with two shots on frame. Sophomore netminder Felicity Tarr (Tucson, Ariz./Mountain View Marana HS) (11-4-0) collected five saves in a losing effort.

Dixie State will close out the road portion of its 2017 regular season schedule Saturday at Concordia-Irvine.
