Volleyball Swept by Concordia-Irvine Sunday, 3-0

Dixie State closed out its brief two-match Homecoming weekend homestand on a sour note as the Trailblazers fell in three tightly-contested sets (25-23, 27-25, 25-19) to Concordia-Irvine in Pacific West Conference play Sunday afternoon in the DSU Student Activities Center. The loss, DSU's fourth-straight overall, dropped the Trailblazers to 12-8 on the season, 8-4 in league play.

Senior outside hitter Delayne Daniel (Pleasant Grove, Utah/Pleaseant Grove HS) recorded her eighth-straight double-double and 12th on the year with team-highs of 12 kills and 10 digs to lead DSU, while sophomore OH Taylor Duryea (Logan, Utah/Sky View HS) finished with nine kills and 10 digs. DSU was held to a .137 hitting and 38 kills on the afternoon.

CUI's Rachel Flynn and Cindy Tran paced the Eagles (20-2/11-2 PacWest) with 12 kills apiece.

Dixie State will head to the Bay Area for its penultimate road trip of the 2016 regular season this upcoming week. The Trailblazers start the trip at Notre Dame de Namur on Friday, Oct. 28, followed by a match at Academy of Art on Saturday, Oct. 29, and will close the trip with a Halloween match at Fresno Pacific on Monday, Oct. 31.
