ST. GEORGE, Utah - Dixie State has earned a No. 4 seed in the 2015 NCAA Division II West Baseball Regional and will head to Southern California to compete in its fourth straight postseason. The Regional will run from Thursday, May 14 to either Sunday, May 17 or Monday, May 18 (if necessary).

The Red Storm (31-17) will open postseason play against the No. 3 seed and Pacific West Conference rival, the California Baptist Lancers (30-20), on Thursday at 11 a.m. Pacific at Mazmanian Field on the campus of Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. No. 2 seed Azusa Pacific (32-18) will take on No. 5 seed UC San Diego (33-19) at 3 p.m. Pacific while top-seed and host Cal Poly Pomoma (39-14) will close out the day with a 7 p.m. Pacific game against No. 6 seed Point Loma (33-16).

Each of the eight NCAA Regional sites feature a six-team, double-elimination format to crown a Regional Champion that will advance to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championships in Cary, N.C.

Dixie State has qualified for the NCAA Regionals for the fourth consecutive year. In 2012, the Storm forced the if-necessary game against Chico State, before falling to the Wildcats in Keizer, Ore. The following year, DSU hosted the West Regional at Bruce Hurst Field. Two quick losses eliminated the Red Storm from the regional, won eventually by Grand Canyon. Last year, Dixie State lost its Regional opener to Chico State in La Jolla, Calif. The team bounced back with a win over Sonoma State before CBU eliminated DSU from the regional.

The Storm finished the season with a 24-8 PacWest record, earning the team its second straight league title and fourth crown in the last six years. Dixie State is the only team in the PacWest to finish in the top three of the conference over the last seven seasons.

Tickets for the NCAA West Regional can be purchased at Mazmanian Field. The ticket office will open 60 minutes prior to the opening game of each day. Single-session tickets (good for the full day of games) will be $8 for general admission and $5 for students/youth/seniors. All-tournament passes will be available for $25 general admission and $15 for students and seniors. If buying 10 or more tickets, group tickets are discounted at $6 for general admission and $3 for students and seniors. There is no charge for children age 7 and under.
