BOX SCOREThe Dixie State women's basketball team opened the exhibition portion of its 2015-16 schedule in Saturday, falling 109-76 on the road at Utah State.

The Storm stayed with the Aggies early in the game and trailed by seven points at 18-11 after the first quarter. However, Utah State found its rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring Dixie State 42-18 in the period to take a 60-19 lead into the halftime break.

The Red Storm responded in the third quarter, outscoring the USU 26-19 in the period, but the Aggies bounced back with a big fourth quarter to close out the victory.

Dixie State shot 37.5 percent (27-of-72) from the field, 26.7 percent (8-of-30) from the 3-point line, and 70 percent (14-of-20) from the free throw line. Two players finished in double-figures for the Storm, led by senior center
Taylor Mann (Castle Dale, Utah/Emery), who finished with 18 points and five rebounds. Senior guard
Chermayne Moore (Pinole, Calif./Hercules) added 11 points and four rebounds.

The Storm return to action next week when they officially open the season at the GNAC/PacWest Challenge in Anchorage, Alaska on Friday and Saturday. Dixie State will battle host school Alaska-Anchorage on Friday, Nov. 13 at 9 p.m. Mountain Time, and Alaska-Fairbanks on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. MT.Â
