(MATCH NOTES)OPENING TOUCH: Dixie State (8-1-4/6-0-4 PacWest) looks to remain within striking distance for the Pacific West Conference crown as the Storm plays its final two home matches of the 2015 season this week. The fourth-place Storm begins the homestand against Hawai'i Pacific (7-7-0/4-5-0 PacWest) at 4:30 p.m., at Hansen Stadium. Then on Halloween Saturday, the Storm wraps up their home slate against Chaminade (1-12-0/0-9-0 PacWest) in a match that will be played at nearby Dixie High School beginning at 10 a.m. Live stats/video links for both matches can be found at www.dixieathletics.com.
DIXIE STATE VS. THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS: Dixie State owns a 10-2-0 record against HPU, although the Sharks have won two of the last three meetings vs. the Storm overall. DSU will look to remain perfect in its series with Chaminade as the Storm is 12-0-0 all-time against the Silverswords, including a 4-0 result last season in Honolulu, and a 4-3 overtime win the last time these two teams met in St. George.

Kacey Bingham (Arizona State, 2006) is in her third season on the Red Storm bench. Bingham has compiled a 25-20-3 overall record, including a 21-12-1 mark in Pacific West Conference play. Bingham is joined on the sideline by third-year assistant coach

STORM PICKED FIFTH IN PACWEST: Dixie State was selected to finish fifth in the PacWest Conference for the second consecutive year. Point Loma received 11 first-place votes to top the poll, followed by California Baptist, Azusa Pacific and Hawai'i Pacific. Fresno Pacific and Concordia came in below the Storm to round out the top half of the poll.Â
1,000 POINTS AND COUNTING: Dixie State scored its 1,000th point as an NCAA Division II program late in the first half win the Storm's 4-2 win at Academy of Art on Oct. 17. Sophomore
Darian McCloy (Herriman, Utah/Herriman HS)'s second goal of the match, which came at the 39:47 mark of the stanza, provided the point needed to reach that milestone.
QUICK KICKS: The Storm managed to push their winning streak to six games with the 1-0 overtime win at California Baptist last Thursday ... it was DSU's third shutout win of the streak and fifth of the season overall ... however Dixie State was done in by the shutout in its next outing at first-place Concordia last Saturday as the Eagles scored second-half three goals in a span of just over 10 minutes to claim a 3-0 result ... the CUI loss knocked the Storm out of a four-way tie atop the PacWest standings with two weeks left in the regular season ... senior forward
Jasmine Arollo (Glendale, Ariz./Apollo HS) has had her boot on 12 of DSU's 24 goals on the season ... Arollo recorded her team-leading seventh assist of the year on the GW-goal scored by fellow senior
Kaisa Rogers (Springville, Utah/Springville HS) in the OT win at CBU ... Arrolo also leads the team in points (17) and co-leads in goals with five ... Arollo's seven assists leaves her one away from tying her own school record of eight set last season, while her 15 career dimes is good for third on the all-time list and she enters play this week seven assists shy of passing former DSU players Mikala Wilkes (2006-09) and Camille Jensen (2008-11) for the career record (21) ... Rogers has been just as hot of late as she has scored four of her team-high tying five goals in a span of six matches ... Rogers has scored 10 of her 12 points on the year during this current stretch as she has collected a pair of assists along the way ... McCloy saw her four-match point streak come to an end on the SoCal trip as she was held to just one shot attempt (at CBU) in the two matches ... McCloy had scored all 10 of her points this season over that stretch, including four goals and two assists ... the streak also led her to be named PacWest Co-Offensive Player of the Week Oct. 19 after a three-goal effort in wins at NDNU and HNU ... after scoring 16 goals in the first five games of their season-high six game winning streak, the Storm managed just one goal last week in the SoCal road split ... this after DSU tallied 21 total points on seven goals and seven assists in the two Bay Area wins the week prior ... senior goalkeeper
Stacie Gubler (Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde HS) has won three of her last four decisions in goal to run her season record to 5-2-0 with a pair of shutout wins ... Gubler also owns a 0.82 goals against average and has made 19 saves in nearly 548 minutes of action ... Saturday's match vs. Chaminade will also serve as "Senior Day" as DSU will honor its three seniors, including Arollo, Gubler and Rogers ... entering this weekend's matches, Dixie State is averaging 15.4 shots/6.6 SOG per match.
