QUICK KICKS: The number three seems to be the magic number of late as the Storm pushed their winning streak to three games while scoring three goals in each of the wins ... the number three was applicable on the defensive end as well as DSU held BYU-Hawai'i to just three total shot attempts ... in fact the Storm defense did not allow a Seasider shot attempt until the 62nd-minute of the match ... four of DSU's five victories in 2015 have come via shut out, including the 3-0 result vs. UHH last Saturday ... senior forward
Jasmine Arollo (Glendale, Ariz./Apollo HS) has had her boot on eight of DSU's 16 goals on the season ... Arollo scored her third goal of the year in the first half vs. UHH and registered an assist in both the BYU-H and UHH matches to finish the week with four points ... Arollo, who broke the DSU single-season assist record last year with eight, has five assists through 10 matches this year, which ranks her t-ninth on the season list ... Arollo's 13 career dimes is also good for t-fourth on the all-time list and she enters play this week needing just two more to move into sole possession of third place on the career list ... sophomore
Darian McCloy (Herriman, Utah/Herriman HS) also had a solid week she scored her first goal of the year vs. BYU-H and assisted on two other scores to tally four points for the week ... freshman defender
Nichole Mertz (Springville, Utah/Springville HS) flipped her way into doubling her assist total of four for the season as she collected a dime in each match last week ... in all the Storm registered eight assists on the six goals scored in the two home wins ... sophomore keeper
Sarah Beecher (Kaysville, Utah/Davis HS) saw her first action of the season in goal last week and she responded with two victories ... in DSU's 3-1 over BYUH, she made two saves and the lone goal she allowed came on a PK ... against UHH, she played the opening 45 minutes and did not face a SOG ... in all the DSU defense has enjoyed its best overall stretch during this current three-game winning streak as the Storm has allowed just 25 total shot attempts (8.3 spg) and eight shots on goal (2.67 spg), while the lone goal allowed in 270 minutes of play was on the BYU-H PK ...
