DSU and St. Martin's Split Doubleheader Friday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ST. GEORGE- It was a tale of two games for Dixie State University baseball Friday night.
 
The Red Storm (8-10) found a way to crawl to a 6-3 win in game two of a four-game series with Saint Martin's University (3-11), while fell badly to the Saints in game three of the series 14-3.
 
The Red Storm took an early 2-0 lead on a Kevin Kline (Las Vegas, NV/Rancho) home run. Saint Martin's countered with two run in the top of the fourth, but the Storm returned the favor by scoring a run in the sixth and three runs in the eight inning. Kline batted in five runs during the game.
 
Kody Christerofferson earned the win for Dixie in the first game of the doubleheader, allowing two runs on five hits over four-and-a-third innings. Saint Martin's Josh Moss allowed six run and seven hits over seven-and-a-third innings.
 
In game two,  Lucas Besel hit a grand slam in the first inning to provide the go-ahead runs for Saint Martin's. The Saints would score ten runs in the first three innings against the Storm. Dixie State would counter with two runs in the sixth, but it was too little too late. Saints designated hitter Alex Bielaski batted in five runs, while Besel had four RBIs.
 
Dixie State will host Saint Martin's for the final game of the four-game series Saturday at 11 am at Bruce Hurst Field.
