Cal Poly Pomona powers to 12-0 shutout of Storm

Dixie State falls to 0-2 on the year

POMONA, Calif. – Three runs in the first inning was the catalyst for a Cal Poly Pomona 21-hit afternoon. The host Broncos shutout Dixie 12-0 in the second game of a non-conference series at Scolinos Field on Saturday.
 
Dixie State dropped its second straight game (0-2) after being stymied to four hits. Redshirt freshman Drew McLaughlin (Scottsdale, AZ)had two hits from the nine spot in the lineup.
 
Chance Abrath (Salt Lake City, UT) took the loss surrendering five hits on 11 hits in four innings. Steven Farnsworth threw two-hit ball over five scoreless innings to earn the win for CPP.
 
The series finale is Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. Pacific (noon MT).
