ST. GEORGE, Utah – Led by two more goals from the Pacific West Conference leader, Dixie State motored to its second consecutive 4-0 shutout in league play. This time, the Red Storm defeated Holy Names at Hansen Stadium Saturday night.

Jennifer Mason (Springville, UT/Springville) scored twice and assisted on another goal in the opening half to lead the Storm to its third consecutive win. Dixie State improved to 7-5-1 overall and 5-2 in the PacWest posting another shutout.

"We had another solid defensive performance," Dixie State head coach
Kacey Bingham said. "We also worked hard on the attacking end to create scoring opportunities."

The first scoring chance resulted from a great bounce. Erica Gonazlez sent a crossing pass that deflected off a Holy Names (0-10/0-6) defender. The ball ricocheted to Mason, who scored in the 26
th minute. Later,
Darian McCloy (Herriman, UT/Herriman) set up Mason to scoot by her defender and once again best the Hawks goalkeeper.

Right before halftime, Mason became the facilitator with a pass to the
Kaisa Rogers (Springville, UT/Springville). From the left side, Rogers found the right side of the net for a 3-0 DSU lead. The Storm held a 12-0 advantage on shots in the opening 45 minutes.

Tana Singley (Farmington, UT/Viewmont) posted her first goal of the year in the 80
th minute connecting on a through ball from
Inyssa Perez (Corona, CA/Santiago).

Stacie Gubler (Las Vegas, NV/Palo Verde) and
Angie Ciucci (Stockholm, Sweden/Thorildsplans Gymnasium) combined for the shutout in goal. Gubler did not face any threats while Ciucci made three saves to ensure her clean sheet.

Dixie State travels to Azusa Pacific on Thursday, Oct. 23 for the first of two road matched in league play.
