SAINT GEORGE – Earning the No. 3 seed and for the first time in school history, the Dixie State baseball team earned the right to host the NCAA West Regional at Bruce Hurst Field on May 16-19 in Saint George.

The Red Storm (32-15) are making their second consecutive NCAA tournament appearance and its first appearance under head coach Chris Pfatenhauer. Last season, the Red Storm lost in the West Region Championship to Chico State.
Dixie State will open the tournament against Pacific West Conference co-champion and No. 4 seed Grand Canyon (34-16) on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. The Red Storm won the season series six games to one.

Kicking off the tournament will be the top seed Cal State Monterey Bay (38-15) as they battle fellow California Collegiate Athletic Association member and No. 6 seed Chico State (34-21) at 11 a.m.

The second game on Thursday features the No. 2 seed Sonoma State (34-20) pitted against the automatic qualifier and the champion of the CCAA tournament, Cal State Los Angeles (35-20), at 3 p.m.

The double-elimination tournament continues through Sunday, May 19, with the regional champion advancing to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championships in Cary, N.C., May 25-June 1 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.

Selected games in the tournament will have live audio coverage, with video streaming through DixieAthletics.com/showcase. Live stats will also be available for all tournament games through DixieAthletics.com.
Tickets for the tournament will be available at the gate, priced at $10 for general admission, $7 for students and seniors and $4 for a child.
