Men's Soccer Dropped 3-0 by Grand Canyon

PHOENIX – Four nights had passed since the Red Storm walked off their home field with an overtime loss to Grand Canyon last Tuesday. Entering Saturday's rematch at GCU, Dixie State hoped a second straight victory on the road was in the cards.

The nationally ranked Lopes had other ideas.

Chris Green netted the game-winning penalty kick just eight minutes in the Pacific West match as GCU defeated Dixie State 3-0.

Grand Canyon (13-2, 10-1 PWC) enjoyed a 2-0 at the break after Saeed Robinson deposited a goal in the 40^th minute – his fourth goal in two matches against Dixie State (5-8-2, 4-5-2 PWC). GCU outshot the Red Storm eight to four in the first half.

Brandon Hansen added insurance midway through the second half with a goal assisted by Robinson. Each team had 10 shots over the final 45 minutes.

Alex Lawhun (Draper, UT/Alta) placed all four shot attempts on goal. Jordan Roylance (Smithfield, UT/Sky View) added three shots.

Tyler Walters (Ogden, UT/Ben Lomand) made four saves in net for DSC while his counterpart Joshua Zehring faced six shots in recording his fourth shutout of the year.

PacWest play continues on the road for Dixie State on Thursday at California Baptist in Riverside. Match is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. Pacific Time start.
