Roylance shines in golden moment, leads DSC to 1-0 win

ST. GEORGE – Senior forward Jordan Roylance (Smithfield, UT/Sky View) dribbled past his defender in the fourth minute of double overtime and beat the keeper from UH-Hilo from close range to give the Dixie State College men's soccer team a 1-0 win in Pacific West Conference play.

Roylance, who missed a majority of the Red Storm's first matches, netted his second goal of the year to improve DSC to 3-6-1 on the year and 2-3-1 in PacWest play. The Vulcans dropped to 0-5-1, 0-4-1 PWC respectively.

Dixie State was the aggressor in overall shots – 19 to 11, but both teams had opportunities tha t missed.

UHH had a shot in the crossbar in the fourth minute while Tyler Albretsen (Pleasant View, UT/Weber) just missed closing the game in the final minute of regulation with a header.

Tyler Walters (Ogden, UT/Ben Lomand) stopped all eight shots he faced on goal for the shutout.

Dixie State continues PacWest action Saturday afternoon against Chaminade University at 4:30 p.m.
