WSOC: PacWest preview won by Cal Baptist

Non-conference match finishes 3-0

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Dixie State women's soccer saw a glimpse of a future conference opponent on Wednesday. Cal Baptist took 16 more shots than the Red Storm in a 3-0 non-conference win.

The Red Storm dropped to 2-4 on the season.

Whitley Davis (Sandy, UT/Brighton) and Mindi Beckstrom (Nibley, UT/Mountain Crest) each had two shots while April Beck (American Fork, UT/American Fork) saved six of nine shots sent her way.

Cal Baptist (4-1) outshot the Storm 25-9. Kylee Nicassio led the Lancers with a goal (3) and an assist.

This was the first of three meetings with CBU in women's soccer. Matches upcoming on October 1 and November 5 will count toward the Pacific West Conference title hunt.

Dixie State opens PacWest play on Saturday at Grand Canyon. The team takes the field in Phoenix at 6:45 p.m.
