WSOC: Jensen Leads Red Storm win over Penguins

SAINT GEORGE, Utah -- Camille Jensen (North Logan, UT/Sky View) tallied two assists and scored a goal in the 50th minute to help Dixie State College to a 4-0 win over Dominican University on Saturday.

The Red Storm (4-6-0, 2-2-0 PWC) scored the first goal of the game in the 12th minute when Jensen found Kimberly Thurman (Sandy, UT/Alta) as Thurman ran up the left side of the field toward the goal. Thurman scored from 8 yards out to give DSC a 1-0 lead.

The two teams went into the half with the same score, but then DSC came out guns blazing in the second half.

Jensen scored her goal in the 51st minute when she dribbled through the center of the field and fired a shot from 27 yards out to put the Red Storm up 2-0.

Two minutes later, Jensen delivered a cross to Aria Hadley (Salt Lake City, UT/Skyline), who headed the ball past DUC keeper Megan Herring for the third goal.

The final goal of the game came in the 55th minute, when Jennifer Mason (Springville, UT/Springville) took a rebound and scored a goal from 6 yards out.

The Red Storm outshot the Penguins (3-7-0, 1-4-0 PWC) 14-9.

Dixie State returns to the field on October 15 to take on the University of Hawaii Hilo for a 3:30 p.m. (MST) start.
