Roylance nets winner as Red Storm defeat BYU Hawaii

Box Score LAIE, Hawaii- Jordan Roylance (Smithfield, UT/Sky View) scored on a free kick in the 2nd minute of the match on a free kick from Tyler Albretsen (Pleasant View, UT/Weber) to lead the Dixie State College men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over BYU-Hawaii.

With the win, the Red Storm remain unbeaten in PacWest play at 6-0 and improve to 7-3-2 overall.

In the 14th minute of the match, the Seasiders Kamuela Kamoe recieved a red card for arguing with the official and forced BYU-Hawaii to play with a man down.

The Red Storm could not capatalize on any additional scoring opprutunities and relied upon the steady play of goalkeeper Tyler Walters (Ogden, UT/Ben Lomand) who earned his fourth shoutout of the season.

Both the Seasiders and the Red Storm took 12 shots, with Walters earning three saves and Holtz collecting four.

Coach Danny Ortiz (Las Vegas, NV/Cimarron) said; "The team played a very smart game today. I never felt like we would not win. The shots may have been even but we were more dangerous going at the goal."

With the loss, BYU Hawaii drops to 7-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in PacWest play.

"The defense played well from start to finish and we just keep finding ways to win. I proud of the way we compete, " concluded coach Ortiz.

The Red Storm will now face it't toughest test to date in doing a battle with league leading Hawaii Pacfic on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. HT.
