Storm lose 1-0 to MSU Billings in non-conference play

BILLINGS, MONT. – Day one of the MSUB Cup concluded with Dixie State being defeated by the host Yellowjackets of Montana State-Billings 1-0 at Yellowjacket Field in non-conference play.

The Red Storm fall to 0-1-0 on the young season after missing on all five attempts on goal. Dacee Stephens (Hyde Park, UT/Sky View) paced DSC with two shots on goal.

In the 81st minute off a right side pass from Samantha Sandau, MSUB freshman Heidi Greenback evaded her defender in front of the net and rolled in the game-winner from 12-yards out for the Jackets (1-0).

April Beck (American Fork, UT/American Fork) made six saves on the day, but took the loss in net.

Dixie State returns to the pitch on Saturday at 5:00pm against the University of Mary (ND) in day two action. The home opener for DSC is Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7:00pm against Mesa State College.
