Victory, 3-1 win over Hawaii Hilo

BELMONT, CALIF. (Sept. 18) –
The Dixie State College women's soccer team remained undefeated in Pacific West Conference play on Saturday defeating the University of Hawaii at Hilo 3-1 in a neutral site math held on the campus of Notre Dame de Namur.

Jordyn Hutchinson recorded the first of her two match assists for the Red Storm (5-1-0, 2-0-0 PWC) setting up Kalehua Harward (Saint George, UT/Dixie) for the match's first goal at the 29:00 mark.

UH-Hilo (1-3-1, 0-2-0 PWC) freshman Lauren Poulson evened the match eight minutes later scoring unassisted past April Beck (American Fork, UT/American Fork).

Dixie State would take a 2-1 lead into the halftime break on a Mindi Beckstrom (Nibley, UT/Mountain Crest) score set up by Hutchinson in the 41st minute.

Kelsey Tesoro (Torrance, CA/Shadow Ridge) gave the Storm some breathing room at 61:21 pushing the ball past UHH goalie Alysia Ann Barone off an assist from Camille Peterson-Jensen.

Beck made two saves between the pipes to improve her record to 5-1.

Dixie State soccer will remain in the Belmont-area to face NDNU on Monday in the third-game of the Pac West road trip in Northern California. The match begins at 5:30pm Mountain against the Lady Argonauts.

NOTES: Senior defender Rebecca D'Occhio (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial) was assessed two yellow cards against Hilo and per NCAA rules will be forced to sit out Monday's match against Notre Dame de Namur.
