Roylance Nets Delflection to Top Crusaders in OT

NAMPA, IDAHO (Oct. 16) –
Sixty-nine seconds into overtime, sophomore Jordan Roylance (Smithfield, UT/Sky View) headed in a crossbar deflection to give the visiting Dixie State College soccer team a 3-2 non-conference win at Northwest Nazarene University on Saturday afternoon.

The score was set-up off an early OT corner kick. Zac Hales (Saint George, UT/Dixie)' shot hit the crossbar ricocheting to Roylance for the game-winner.

Dixie State (5-6-0) took an early lead on the first goal of the year from Parker Kennah (Layton, UT/Northridge). His 20-yard shot skipped low at found the net just inside the right post at the 5:08 mark of the first half.

The Crusaders (6-5-0) scored the next two goals to take a half time lead. A Red Storm own goal in the 13th minute and Alex Mangeac's free-kick shot from 25 yards out in the 29th minute put Northwest Nazarene ahead 2-1.

Kennah helped on the tying goal assisting Timothy Shue (Henderson, NV/Green Valley) to his first goal of 2010 – a long-range, 35-yard goal inside the right post.

Naorthwest Nazarene outshot DSC 10-9 for the match. Tyler Walters (Ogden, UT/Ben Lomand) made a pair of saves for the victory in goal.

The Red Storm have won three straight matches and will return home to Hansen Stadium on Monday, October 18th for a battle with the West Region's top-ranked team, the Grand Canyon University Antelopes, in Pacific West Conference action. The match is scheduled for a 4:30 start in St. George.
