GRAND JUNCTION.CO- The Dixie State College Women's Soccer team traveled to take on Mesa State College this afternoon. Dixie State won the match 5-1 moving their record to 6-4-1 on the year.

Dixie State opened play by scoring in the 12th minute on a header in the goalie box by Shannon Larsen (Salt Lake City. UT/Skyline HS '06). The assist was by Erika Mouritsen (Wellsville. UT/Mountain Crest HS '07) on a corner kick. The goal gave DSC the early 1-0 lead and they never looked back from their.

DSC scored in again in the 34th. 35th. and 38th minutes. All three goals from Wendy Stratford (Layton, UT/Layton). The first of her three was from 28 yards out. the second was a one v one with the goalie. and the final was a pass from Camille Peterson to Kalehua Harward (Saint George, UT/Dixie) who found Strarford to complete the hat trick.

The final Dixie State goal came in the 68th when Jordyn Hutchinson was found by Mikala Wilkes (Cedar Hills. UT/Lone Peak HS '06).

Dixie State will play a non-conference match against Academy of Arts University on Friday night at Hansen Stadium at 7PM.
