Mike Olson returned to the Utah Tech Athletics program in January of 2020 as the Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services and Student-Athlete Welfare. Olsen also oversees the UT Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Olson has worked in academic advisement at Utah Tech since 2009, including the last six-plus years as UT's Director of Academic Advisement. During that time, he led a team of 30-plus academic advisors during the institution's transition to university status.
Prior to his transition to academic advisement, he served as an assistant coach for the Trailblazers men’s basketball program from 2005-09 under current Head Coach Jon Judkins, and worked on Judkins’ staff at Snow College for eight years.
A native of Spanish Fork, Utah, Mike graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English from then-Dixie State in 2008, and earned a Master’s degree in Academic Advising from Kansas State in 2013.
