Jake Schroeder

Jake Schroeder finished his sixth year of his second stint as an assistant coach for the Utah Tech men's basketball team in the 2024-25 season.

Making his return to the Trailblazers' in their final season of Division II play in 2019-20, the Trailblazers went 23-7 overall and tied for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title posting a 17-5 mark and advanced to the 2020 NCAA Division II Tournament, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Utah Tech's five seasons in Division I, the Trailblazers have combined for 53 total wins, including 24 WAC victories, with 17 coming at home in Burns Arena.

The Trailblazers have combined to earn six postseason All-WAC honors with Hunter Schofield (2021, 2022) and Cameron Gooden (2021, 2023) notching a pair of honors along with a pair of WAC All-Freshman selections in Aric Demmings (2024) and Madiba Owona (2025).

Coach Schroeder rejoined the Trailblazer program in 2019 after a six-year run as head boy’s basketball coach at Bingham (UT) High School, during which he led the Miners to five state playoff appearances and back-to-back Utah 5A state titles in 2016 and 2017. Schroeder posted a 102-46 (.689) overall record at BHS, which included a 24-2 record in 2015-16 and 24-3 mark in 2016-17.

Schroeder served as an assistant coach with on Head Coach Jon Judkins’ staff at then-Dixie State for seven seasons from 2006-13 and helped lead the program to four-straight Pacific West Conference titles and four-consecutive NCAA Division II tournament berths, including a “Sweet 16” appearance in the 2010-11 campaign. As a player, Schroeder earned first team All-Big Sky Conference honors at Portland State in 2005-06, and helped lead the Vikings to a Big Sky regular season crown in 2004-05.

Schroeder graduated from Portland State in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health. He and his wife, Prissy, are the parents of three sons.
