Dr. Zachary Leitze is the only orthopedic surgeon in St. George who is fellowship-trained in shoulder, upper extremity and sports medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from BYU with a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Studies and a minor in Chemistry. Because of his interest in sports medicine and his own football shoulder injury, he carried out at a fellowship in shoulder and upper extremity medicine with the world renowned Dr. Charles Rockwood at the University of Texas. He also has extensive orthopedic trauma experience from his time at two Level 1 trauma centers. Turning down an academic position as the Director of Sports Medicine for a division one football team, he came to Southern Utah for more of a family life.
