Marc Briggs

Marc Briggs brings a lifelong passion for the game to his role as a first-year Volunteer Assistant Coach with the Utah Tech University golf program.

A competitive golfer since the age of eight, Briggs has spent decades immersed in the sport and brings both leadership experience and a deep appreciation for player development to the Trailblazers.

Briggs previously served as an Accounting Executive with OB Sports, where he oversaw finance and accounting operations for more than 15 golf courses and development projects. He has also held leadership roles within the golf community, including Board President of Hidden Valley Country Club and service on the Board of Governors for Marcella Club. He currently serves on the Golf Digest Course Review Panel.

A seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience, Briggs retired in 2025 after a 25-year career with UnitedHealth Group, where he most recently served as Medicare CEO across five western states. His career also includes executive roles in finance and operations, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer at Sierra Health Services, Corporate Controller at OB Sports, and Senior Auditor at Deloitte.

Briggs holds an MBA from the UNLV Lee Business School and a bachelor’s degree from the David Eccles School of Business. He has also served as Board President of the American Heart Association Utah Chapter.

Briggs is committed to mentoring student-athletes and supporting the continued growth of the Trailblazers program, bringing a leadership-focused approach and a deep love of the game to his role.
