Coach Richardson arrives at Utah Tech after spending the last seven years on the women’s basketball staff at Central Washington, including serving as associate head coach for the 2025-26 season.

Coach Richardson helped lead the Wildcats to an impressive 131-57 overall record, which includes a 76-34 mark in GNAC play, during her time in Ellensburg.

She also helped guide CWU to four NCAA Division II West Regional tournament berths, highlighted by back-to-back of Regional Final (Sweet 16) appearances in 2025 and 2026.

Prior to her time at CWU, Coach Richardson served a two-year stint as a graduate assistant for Southern Utah from 2017-19, this after she played four seasons for the Thunderbird program from 2013-17.

She was a member of the 2013-14 Big Sky Conference championship winning team as a freshman under then head coach, and current Colorado head coach JR Payne. She appeared in 20 games off the bench for the T-Birds that season and averaged 2.5 rebounds per game.

Richardson went on to become a staple in the SUU starting lineup over the next three seasons. In her sophomore season, she finished second on the team in rebounding with 187. She also averaged 6.1 points per game and was third on the team in field goal percentage (.443).

She then led Southern Utah in scoring over the next two seasons, averaging 12.9 points per game in 2015-16, and 12.8 points per game in 2016-17. She also led the team leading rebounder (8.1) during the 2015-16 campaign.

Richardson finished her career with 982 points, good enough for 13th all-time in program history. She is also ranked in SUU’s top-10 in career field goal percentage (44.7%) and rebounding (684).

A native of Kaysville, Utah, Richardson graduated from SUU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and went on to play professional basketball in South America. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree from SUU in Sports Conditioning and Science.

In addition, Coach Richardson is a graduate of the 2018 NCAA Women Coaches Academy class #46 that was held in Denver, Colo. The NCAA Women Coaches Academy, hosted in partnership between WeCOACH and the NCAA, is a four-day educational training available to NCAA coaches of all experience levels, and is designed for women coaches who are ready to increase their individual effectiveness by learning advanced skills and strategies that directly affect their personal and team success.
