Jake Ellis is entering his second year as Sports Information Specialist at Utah Tech. 

Ellis serves as the primary media contact for men’s and women’s soccer, women’s tennis and women’s track & field. Ellis also assists with statistics for football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.

Before he arrived in St. George, Ellis worked as an Athletics Communications Assistant at Utah State, serving as the primary contact for men’s and women’s track & field and cross country. Ellis also inputted stats for football, men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball. In Logan, he helped promote pole vaulter Logan Hammer, the first Aggie All-American since 2019 and men's U.S. Olympic Trials participant in over 20 years. Ellis also wrote feature stories on alumna Chari Hawkins, a Paris 2024 women’s heptathlon Olympian, and USU football players.

As a student at USU, Ellis was the 2022-23 sports editor of the Utah Statesman and wrote freelance pieces for the Deseret News, Herald Journal and Cache Valley Daily. He also provided play-by-play and color commentary for Utah State soccer, softball, and volleyball games on the Mountain West Network, as well as for local high school games on the radio.

A native of Orem, Utah, Ellis earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Utah State University in 2023.
