Elliott De Wit

Elliott De Wit finished up his first season as an assistant coach on the Utah Tech men's basketball coaching staff in 2024-25.

Helping the Trailblazers earn seven wins in his debut season, guard Madiba Owona earned WAC All-Freshman Team honors after appearing in 18 games for the Trailblazers, making eight starts, and finished fifth on the team averaging 8.0 points per game.

The Trailblazers won a pair of home WAC contests over UT Arlington and Tarleton State to open conference play and defeated No. 8 seed Southern Utah, 72-65 in the opening round of the WAC Tournament before falling to WAC regular season champion Utah Valley in the quarterfinals in Las Vegas.

De Wit arrives at Utah Tech after a season at Ole Miss in 2023-24 as the Director of Video Operations helping head coach Chris Beard and the coaching staff with all video aspects, including scouting reports, game plans and player development.

Prior to his time in Oxford, De Wit spent three years in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons working in the video room and as a Player Development coach under head coach Dwane Casey from 2020-2023.

In addition to his work in both college and professional basketball, De Wit is the associate head coach for the Swiss National Team and brings over 10 years of basketball experiences at the highest levels.
 
Prior to his time in the NBA, De Wit served as a video coordinator graduate assistant under Beard at Texas Tech for three seasons from 2017 to 2020.

He coordinated all video operations for the Red Raiders, and helped the Red Raiders earn three straight NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in school history, including the program's first Final Four campaign that culminated in an overtime battle against Virginia in the 2019 National Championship game.

He began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Frank Phillips College (Texas) from 2015 to 2017, and served as a volunteer at the University of California.

In France, De Wit was the head coach of Entente le Chesnay Versailles (2013-15), Poissy Basket Association (2012-13) and was an assistant for Paris Levallois (2010-12). He graduated high school from CFA Omnisport Paris in France and played at the regional and national level in France.

De Wit has worked closely with some of the best French and international prospects, including Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Jonathan Kuminga, the No. 7 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Theo Maledon, the No. 34 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and Sekou Doumbouya, the No. 15 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

De Wit earned his Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Sport Psychology from Texas Tech in 2019, after receiving a Bachelor Degree in General Studies from Texas Tech in 2018.
