Dr. Joseph Lovell is in his second year as the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR).
As the FAR, Lovell chairs the Institutional Intercollegiate Athletic Council and works closely with university administrators and faculty to support a quality student-athlete experience, support academic integrity of the athletics program and support institutional control and rules compliance of the intercollegiate athletics program.
Lovell is an Associate Professor and Program Director over the undergraduate Recreation and Sport Management degree as well as the Master of Science in Sport Management graduate degree at Utah Tech University. He has taught for over fifteen years in both face-to-face and online environments while also serving as a reviewer for multiple academic journals and as an accreditation visitor for his discipline.
Lovell received his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Recreation Administration from Southern Virginia University where he was a member of the men's basketball team and the recipient of the Legacy Athlete award. He later received a Master of Science in Sport and Recreation Management from the University of Idaho and a doctorate degree from Lindenwood University in Educational Leadership. He and his wife Celeste are the parents of five children.
