Dr. Chase Grames is a team physician for Utah Tech Athletics and Crimson Cliffs High School, along with supporting additional high school coverage for other St. George-area schools. He provides care to the community at Southwest Orthopedics, focusing on fractures, sprains, strains, overuse injuries, sports-related injuries, work-related injuries, joint injections, PRP, percutaneous tenotomy with Tenex and sports physicals.
Grames is board-certified in sports medicine. Prior to joining UT Athletics, he completed a family medicine internship and residency at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and then served with special operations through deployments to Afghanistan and Central Africa. After serving seven years with the United States Army, he completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Utah Valley Sports Medicine and Orthopedics.
A New Jersey native, Grames earned a doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Brigham Young University.Â
Grames and his wife have four children and reside in St. George. In his free time, Grames enjoys spending time with his family, competing in triathlons, cycling, hiking, skiing, canyoneering, rock climbing and mountain biking.
