Biography

At Utah Tech 2024 (Junior): Set the Utah Tech single-season saves record with 105 stops, tied for the most saves in the nation … named WAC Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 14 after posting a shutout at San José State (10/10) with five saves and allowing just one goal on a penalty and putting up a career-best 11 saves, the most single-game saves by a Trailblazer in the DI era, at Seattle U (10/13) … posted his second shutout of the season and recorded his first career assist in a 1-0 win against Grand Canyon (10/17) … started all 18 games, playing all 1,620 minutes … posted wins against UC Riverside (8/29), Grand Canyon (10/17), Air Force (10/24) and UNLV (11/3) ... earned academic all-WAC honors ... reached the USL League Two Final with Ballard FC during the 2025 offseason.

At Utah Tech 2023 (Sophomore): Was twice named WAC Goalkeeper of the Week (Aug. 29, Oct. 3) … started each of the team’s 18 games, playing 1,575 minutes … twice tied his career-best mark for saves in a single game, stopping seven shots against CSU Bakersfield (9/14) and California Baptist (10/22) … posted clean sheets against Lindenwood (9/10), UTRGV (10/1), Grand Canyon (10/19) and San Jose State (11/5) … finished the year with 60 saves (3.3 per game) and a goals-against average of 1.26 while stopping 73.2% of the shots he faced ... earned academic all-WAC honors.

At Utah Tech 2022 (Freshman):  Started and appeared in five matches... played the full 90 minutes in every appearance... three games with at least five saves... season-high seven saves against California Baptist (10/30).
 
Before Utah Tech: Earned three varsity letters in soccer at Weber HS … helped lead the Warriors to a pair of region titles (2021-22) and two Utah 6A state championships in 2019 and 2021 … was named 2021 Utah 6A MVP, 2022 Mr. Soccer and All-Area MVP … currently holds the UHSAA state record for most career shutouts (16) … also lettered in football and was an all-region wide receiver selection. 
 
Club Teams: Played for the La Roca ECNL and Avalanche ECNL club teams. 
 
More on Stockton: Born in Ogden, Utah … parents are Steve and Suzanne Short … also recruited by Air Force and New Hampshire for soccer, and Utah State and Black Hills State for football … currently majoring in finance.
