Whitney Fowers is in her third year as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Utah Tech Athletics.
Fowers is responsible for providing medical care to Utah Tech volleyball and track & field student-athletes.
Prior to joining Utah Tech Athletics in June 2023, Fowers worked as an athletic trainer at the University of North Dakota, working with the Fighting Hawks’ men’s and women’s track & field teams, and taught as an instructor in the university’s School of Medicine & Health Sciences in the master’s of athletic training program. Previously, Fowers was an athletic trainer at Weber State Athletics, working with the men’s and women’s track & field teams between 2019 and 2021.
Fowers is also an emergency medical technician (EMT) through NREMT and an American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor.
As a student-athlete, Fowers competed on Weber State’s track & field team from 2014 to 2019. Fowers won a conference title in the javelin at the 2017 Outdoor Big Sky Championships and was a four-time academic all-conference honoree.
Hailing from Hooper, Utah, Fowers earned a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Weber State University in 2018 and a master’s degree in Education from WSU in 2019.
Fowers has a black Labrador named Oakley, and they love to get outside, going on hikes and paddle boarding, among other activities.
