At Chaparral High School: Was a four-year letter winner in volleyball and played outside hitter and middle blocker ... garnered second-team all-league honors in 2012 ... named MaxPrep Volleyball Player of the Week was a four-time recipient of the CIF Scholar-Athlete award ... also was a student leadership committee representative ... graduated in May 2013.

Personal: Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina ... parents are Alan and Kala Thurber ... father Alan was a collegiate diver at the U.S. Air Force Academy and mother Kala played softball at Delaware State ... served an 18-month LDS Church Mission in Washington, D.C., prior to her arrival to DSU ... also recruited by Utah, Utah State, Texas-El Paso, Memphis, San Diego State, New Mexico State, Rutgers, Pepperdine, Radford and Columbia ... favorite sports team is the Washington Nationals … currently majoring in biology.
