Whitnee Tupe

Whitnee Tupe returns for her third stint as a Trailblazer Volleyball assistant coach in 2025 after serving five seasons in her second stint with Utah Tech from 2019-23.

In their final season in Division II, the Trailblazers posted a 20-8 overall mark and a third-place finish in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and helped the Trailblazers earn 36 victories in their first four seasons in Division I and five All-WAC selections by four individuals.

Megan Treanor earned First Team All-WAC honors in 2020 while Kate Hardy was tabbed to the WAC All-Freshman Team in both the spring 2021 season and the fall 2021 season as well as being named Second Team All-WAC

Prior to her most recent time with the Trailblazers, Tupe coached for three seasons (2016-18) on the coaching staff at Snow College.

While at Snow, she helped guide the Badgers to their first Scenic West Conference in 31 years in 2017, and to the program’s first NJCAA national tournament appearance in 38 years in 2018. In addition, she mentored the 2018 Region 18 Defensive Player of the Year Sydnie Martindale, and 2017 Region 18 Player of the Year, and AVCA and NJCAA All-American Riley Lyman.

During her first stint with the Trailblazers from 2011-15, Tupe helped lead the program to three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances (2013-15) and to the 2015 Pacific West Conference championship. In addition, Tupe also coached five players to All-PacWest honors during the 2015 season.

A native of Santa Clara, Utah, Tupe graduated from Snow Canyon High School in 2005. She went on to play volleyball at then-Dixie State for two seasons, where she earned her Associates Degree in Science.

Whitnee and her husband Misi, who served as an assistant coach on the Utah Tech Football coaching staff from 2008-12 & 2019-23, are the parents of three daughters and two sons.
