After a stellar four-year playing career, Makenzi Murphey is in her fourth season on the Trailblazer sideline and begins her first season as the program’s Director of Volleyball Operations.
   Makenzi played 97 career games at Dixie State with 72 starts. She has enjoyed her best season as a senior as she posted a career-high 234 kills and led the team with a .290 hitting percentage. She also co-led the team with 11 solo blocks and finished third in aces with 25.
   Murphey currently stands second all-time in DSU’s NCAA era in in block assists with 238. She is also fourth all-time in total blocks (262), t-third in sets played (339), sixth in solo blocks (24) and hitting percentage (.261), and seventh in career kills (610).
   Makenzi was a four-time academic all-PacWest selection and graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Human Communication in May of 2018. She and her husband Kaden are the parents of two children, son Bronx and daughter Zoe.
