Julia Smith is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Dixie State Volleyball program. Smith comes to St. George after one season at Snow College, at which she helped lead the Badgers to a 26-3 record during the 2021 spring season and a 2021 NJCAA national runner-up finish.Â
Prior to her time at Snow, she served as head volleyball coach at Springville (UT) High School from 2014-2016. Over her three seasons as the head coach at SHS, Smith led the Red Devils to a 2015 Region 6 title and a Utah 4A semifinal appearance.Smith also worked as an assistant coach at Timpview (UT) High School and was part of back-to-back state titles in 2013 and 2014.
Smith played collegiately at Texas A&M from 1999-2002, where she helped guide the Aggies four-straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including two trips to the Elite Eight in 1999 and 2001.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from Texas A&M and a Master’s of Educational Leadership from BYU. She and her husband, Aaron, are the parents of four children.Â
