Corbin Ferry joined the Utah Tech Athletics Strength and Conditioning coaching staff in January of 2022. Ferry comes to UT after serving as the head strength and conditioning coach at West Virginia State University.
Prior to his time at WVSU, Ferry most recently worked as a graduate assistant for two years on the S&C staff at the West Alabama. He was directly responsible for developing and implementing the training programs for the track and field, women's basketball, tennis, and women's soccer teams. The staff that he was an integral part of at UWA successfully established a high-functioning department by utilizing scientifically-supported training philosophies to significantly reduce the frequency and severity of soft tissue injuries and increase sports performance.
Before his appointment at UWA, Ferry interned at The Citadel where he primarily worked with the football program. His duties included speed and agility training, organizing team lifts, and assisting with athlete nutrition.
Ferry began his strength and conditioning career at the Integrated Rehabilitation Group (IRG) in Seattle, Wash., where he worked in various capacities at local high schools over a four-year period. He briefly served as a sports performance intern before being promoted to an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. He held that position for two years and worked with three different high schools to develop their sports performance programs. After gaining experience as an assistant, he was named the head strength and conditioning coach at Oak Harbor High School and later at Lake Stevens High School. Â
Ferry is a graduate of Saint Martin's University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Physical Education in 2019. He was a track and field student-athlete with the Saints and competed in the shot put, discus, hammer, and weight throws. He also earned a Master of Science in Physical Education and Exercise Science while at West Alabama and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA.
