Justin Decker enters his 15th season as the head men’s and women’s cross country coach at Utah Tech in 2025 as he has lead the Trailblazers since 2011.
He also wrapped up his ninth season as part of the coaching staff for the women’s track & field program, which started in 2017, in the spring of 2025.
During his tenure at UT, Coach Decker has mentored 25 all-conference, seven all-region, and two All-American athletes (Rachel Young in 2012 and Billie Hatch in 2019). Sophomore Ryan Hatch earned Second Team All-WAC honors on the men's side in 2024 after finishing 17th overall at the WAC Cross Country Championships.
In addition, he has earned certification as a USA Track & Field Level 1 Coach and USTFCCCA Endurance Event Specialist.
Coach Decker grew up in St. George and graduated from Pine View High School in 2004. After high school, he attended then Dixie State and competed on the cross country team during the 2007 and 2008 seasons while serving as the team’s captain and SAAC representative. He graduated from then Dixie State in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and graduated from Southern Utah University with a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2013.
Justin and his wife Kelli reside in St. George and have one daughter (Charli) and one son (Fitz).
