At Dixie State: 2017 – Competed in five races as a sophomore … logged a season-best 38th-place finish (16:30) at the SUU Color Country Invite … earned All-PacWest Academic honors … 2016 – Competed in all five races as a freshman … logged a season-best finish (20:22 – 33rd place) at the CSUSB Invitational … earned All-PacWest Academic honors.
At N.C. Kinnick High School: Earned three varsity letters in cross country and track … named captain of both teams as a senior … set school records in the 1600, 3200, 3305 meter runs … earned All-Pacific League title in 1600m … finished in fifth in Far East Pacific League Cross Country Championships … graduated with honors in June 2016.
Personal: Born in San Bernardino, California … parents are Juan and Elizabeth Avalos … also recruited Cal State Monterey Bay, Biola, and Concordia Irvine … currently majoring in nursing.
