Hart, a 5-foot-4-inch righty who Simkins called a true utility player who can play a variety of positions because of her versatility, played for the 2009 and five time State ASA Champion Salt Lake Flames along with teammate Mattie Snow. The Flames, with 75-15 record, also claimed the Triple Crown World Series Champions and finished second at the Colorado Fireworks Tournament. The Salt Lake Flames also participated in the 16U ASA National tournament and Lexi finished the season with a .371 average along with 24 stolen bases. At Bountiful High School (Bountiful, UT) she was named to the Class 4A First-Team All-State team her sophomore and junior season after lettering as a freshman. In 2008, the Bountiful Braves took third in the State High School tournament where Lexi finished with a .501 Batting Average on the season.
