Biography
At Utah Tech 2021-22 (COVID-Junior): Saw time in all 31 games off the bench and averaged 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds a game … poured in a season-high 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting at CSUN (11/20) … tallied 12 points in WAC road games at Utah Valley (1/8) and at Abilene Christian (3/3) … pulled down a season-best eight rebounds vs. Southern Utah (11/12) … earned Academic all-WAC honors.
At Utah Tech 2020-21 (Junior): Started in 13 of 17 games played … scored in double figures in seven games, highlighted by a career-high tying 17 points and eight rebounds in the season-opener vs North Dakota (12/2) … followed that up with 14 points and nine boards against Saint Katherine (12/5), which earned him WAC Player of the Week honors (12/7) … hit a career-high four 3-pointers in the road win at Denver (12/12) … posted his first collegiate double-double with 14 points and a career-best 12 rebounds vs. Bethesda (12/19) … shot an even 50 percent from the floor and 48.6 percent from 3-point country … earned Academic all-WAC honors.
At Utah Tech 2019-20 (Sophomore): Played in 29 games and started the final five games of the season … led the team in FG% (.671) and averaged 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds a game … scored in double figures twice, highlighted by a career-high 17 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor with a 3-pointer and a 6-for-6 effort at the foul line in a road win at Western Colorado (2/7) … poured in 16 points, including 10-of-11 at the line, with a season-high seven rebounds at Chadron State (1/11) … was named to the Academic all-RMAC Honor Roll and received the 2020 RMAC Men’s Basketball Summit Award, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at a conference championship site.
At Utah Tech 2018-19 (Freshman): Played in 12 games off the bench and averaged 1.1 points and 0.8 rebounds a game … played a season-high 10 minutes and tallied four points with two rebounds in a home win over Western Colorado (2/8) … scored a season-high five points on 2-of-3 shooting vs. Colorado Christian (2/23) … shot 54.5 percent (6-of-11) from the floor and dished out six total assists.
At Gilbert High School: Was a second-team all-section and Arizona varsity all-state pick as a senior after averaging 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds for the Tigers … served as team captain.
Personal: Born in Mesa, Arizona … parents are Richard and Dana Nicolds … wife Kyrie was a member of the Utah Tech women’s swimming team … also recruited by several Arizona junior colleges and NAIA schools ... favorite teams are the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Vikings … favorite player is Dennis Rodman … currently majoring in business administration.
