Johnny Caughman is in his second season as a defensive volunteer assistant coach with the Trailblazer Football program and will work with the defensive line.
Prior to his arrival to Dixie State, Caughman served as quarterbacks and wide receivers coach at Independence (KS) CC, where he helped lead the Pirates to an 8-2 record and the 2019 Kansas Jayhawk Conference title. He also spent two seasons as an offensive and special teams assistant coach at Sacramento State in 2017-18, and was a wide receiver and defensive backs coach at Rodriguez (CA) High School for two seasons in 2015-16.Â
A native of Fairfield, Calif., Caughman earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Sacramento State in 2018.
