Gina Higbee

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Gina Higbee is in her first season as assistant coach for the Utah Tech women’s golf program.

Coach Higbee comes to UT from the Utah County area, where she teaches private lessons, and hosts golf camps and clinics at Fox Hollow Golf Club in American Fork. She is currently a Class A member of the LPGA and runs the only LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program in Utah County.

Coach Higbee played golf collegiately at both Utah Valley University (then a juco) and Idaho State University, where she helped lead the Bengals to a Big Sky Conference championship and received her Bachelor’s degree in 1994.

Prior to her collegiate career, Higbee established herself as an accomplished junior golfer, having twice been named golfer of the year by the Utah Junior Golf Association and was a member of the Junior America's Cup team three times, along with her prep career at American Fork HS.

Following college, Higbee decided she wanted to pursue golf as a career and turned professional in 1994. She moved back to Utah and worked at Thanksgiving Point and Hidden Valley Country Club.

In July of 2002 she was hired at Cedar Hills Golf Club, where she served as the Director of Golf until March of 2005. In addition, she attended her LPGA Teaching Certification and graduated with honors in the class in September of 2008. Higbee also led the Lone Peak HS girl’s golf team to three Utah 6A state championships in 2016, 2018 and 2019, along with six region titles.

A native of Highland, Utah, Gina and her husband Wes are the parents of four children.
