Biography

Newell will be transferring from NCAA Division I Southern Utah University. She will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Rebels. She graduated from Brighton HS in 2005 and helped guide the Bengals to consecutive 5A state titles in 2003 and 2004 before missing her senior season with an ankle injury. Newell was named 2004 5A tournament MVP after averaging 15.5 points a game and was a two-time all-region and all-state selection. She scored at a 12.8 ppg clip her junior season to lead BHS to a 21-3 overall record in 2004. Coach Kristensen is excited about the addition of another post player. Dani is the daughter of Shawn and Tory Newell and will be an elementary education major at Dixie State.
