Marissa Chavez wrapped up her second season on the coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2025.
Officially joining the Trailblazer coaching staff in August of 2023, the 2025 season saw the Trailblazers post a 15-35 overall mark and finished ninth in the WAC with a 6-18 mark.
The Trailblazers finished seventh in the conference with 161 strikeouts and tossed three shutouts against UC Riverside, Weber State and Cal Poly.
Her first season in 2024 season came as the Trailblazers earned 19 wins with a 12-13 mark in the WAC to finish fifth in the conference and advanced to the WAC Tournament taking on eight-seed Southern Utah.
Sophomore outfielder Lakaiya-Braessia Kahahawai-Kekona earned Second-Team All-WAC honors while five Trailblazers were named CSC Academic All-District along with 13 student-athletes being recognized as Academic All-WAC selections.
Chavez was a four-year starter at BYU, making over 100 appearances and being named First Team All-WCC after her sophomore year.
She was also named Second Team All-WCC after hitting .379 with five home runs and a .598 slugging percentage as a junior in 2021.

Originally from Covina, Calif., Chavez joined the staff at Fairleigh Dickinson Florham for the 2023 season, where she began work on a graduate degree.
